Insurance

Buildings Insurance is required to protect your house and it's fixtures and the fittings together with outbuildings, garages and/or green houses. Your buildings insurance can also include things like patios, driveways, walls and fences.

 

What are your buildings covered for ?
Your buildings are protected against such occurrences
as fire, smoke damage, theft, explosion, storm and flood damage, earthquake, leakage of water through burst pipes, malicious damage, subsidence, falling trees, or aerials, impact by aircraft,

vehicles or animals.

 

Cover is also provided for:
  • Accidental breakage of fixed glass, sanitary fittings, and underground services
  • Professional fees, site clearance and other costs
  • The cost of alternative accommodation if you have
    to move out of your home following loss or damage.
    Any legal liability (up to £1,000,000) you incur as owner of your home.

Accidental Damage
You can also choose to extend your cover to include other accidental loss or damage. This would cover you for incidents like accidentally putting your foot through the ceiling while in the loft.

 

Contents Insurance
Contents are your household goods, which will be replaced on a new for old basis, and other valuables, (best described as your stamp or medal collections, antiques, collectibles, pictures and other works of art, jewellery, gold, silver and other precious metals).

What are your contents covered for?
Your home contents are protected against such occurrences as theft, fire, storm or flood. Any contents in your garage or outbuildings are also protected, as well as, for example, food in your freezer, loss of fuel and personal money.
If you choose, you can extend your protection to: include accidental loss or damage to all contents other than your clothing, contact lenses, pedal cycles and mobile telephones [away from home]) increase your contents sum insured limit from the normal £35,000, and your valuables from £1,000 to £10,000. Include personal belongings away from your home (including items stolen from your locked car).
